Amex Pharmaceuticals was incorporated in October 2000 as a pharmaceutical company engaged in the wholesale and retailing of pharmaceutical products, including medical equipment and supplies, as its contribution to the nation's health delivery system.
These services are carried out through our retail and wholesale units to hospitals and other pharmacy businesses in Accra, the capital city of Ghana, and other parts of the country. To the hospitals, the Amex supply line includes authentic anesthetic drugs from reliable sources.

Operations
Retail unit
Located in rented premises on Cactus Street, Teshie-Nungua Estates. The retail unit opens from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays, and between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Sundays.
Delivery network
Five delivery vans enable our sales personnel to carry out delivery-van services to the company's numerous customers and major hospitals across the country, sourcing prospective customers while other clients walk in for their supplies.

For a company set up not too long ago, Amex prides itself in acquiring extensive on-the-job experience over the years, alongside the academic qualifications of its regular workers.

Our team includes 2 Directors, 1 Administrator, 1 Secretary, 2 Accounts Clerks, 1 Accountant, 2 Pharmacists, 5 Drivers, 5 Delivery Van Sales Personnel, 4 Shop Assistants, 2 Pharmacy Technologists and 1 Office Assistant.
Floating staff including an Auditor, a Computer Programmer and the company's Legal Assistant call in from time to time as the need arises.

Amex previously represented and held agencies with Baxter Health Care of Puerto Rico, USA (through a regional representative in UAE, Dubai); Inresa Arzneimittel GmbH, Freiburg, Germany; and Rotex Medica, Busenstrasse 4, D-22949 Trittau, Hamburg, Germany.
Current agencies
We currently represent and hold agency with Pharmada Pharmaceuticals (Inonu Mah) and Farmasol (Tibbi Urunler San), both in Turkey, and GD Cooper & Co. Ltd in the UK, where the company buys the bulk of its UK generic products for the Ghana local market.
Public-sector supply
Amex has been winning and supplying through tender to several hospitals under the Ghana Health Service and the Ministry of Health, the biggest buying agency in the country. We continually seek additional manufacturers and suppliers of both pharmaceutical and non-drug items to expand our existing product line.

Amex Pharmacy Ltd is the Country Representative in Ghana for Farmasol, a leading manufacturer of hemodialysis products.

We deal in and import selected Fresenius products, including dialyzers, bloodlines and machine disinfectants.
